THE STRATEGIC REVIEW IN THE PETERSFIELD DEANERY

The Petersfield Deanery has been selected as one of three Deaneries in the Portsmouth Diocese to move forward the Strategic Review.

Bishop Kenneth acknowledges that the Church has a problem and the Chairman of the Strategic Review Group, Archdeacon Chris Lowson has stated that the Church cannot go on as it is. With falling attendance, aging congregations and fewer people going into the Ministry, things have got to change.

Our Diocesan leaders accept that no one solution will suit all parishes and that solutions will not be imposed from the top down. If the Church is to survive solutions must come from the bottom up.

LET'S KEEP OUR CHURCH BELLS RINGING"
An auction was held at Froxfield Village Hall on October 18th to raise money in aid of the bells at the High Cross, Steep and Privett churches.
Among the lots auctioned were a 1953 Illustrated London News, Susie cooper tableware, a Mappin and Webb silver and tortoiseshell perpetual calendar and a complete set of tales by Beatrix Potter.
The event raised £5,000 towards the £50,000 needed to refurbish the bells in St. Peter's High Cross, All Saints Church Steep and Privett Church.
