Monthly Cycle of Services

The parish church of All Saints’ East Meon, welcomes Christians of all traditions and backgrounds and all those searching for meaning and truth in today’s complex world.

The church, set against the spectacular backdrop of Park Hill, is built in the Norman (Romanesque) style and dates (mostly) from 1080-1150.

Our Sunday worship is centred on the Eucharist, and our services cover a variety of styles, contemporary and traditional, formal and informal. We use both the Book of Common Prayer (1662) and Common Worship (2000). The usual pattern of services is

  1st Sunday          8.00 a.m. Holy Communion (BCP)

 10.30 a.m. Family Service

2nd Sunday        8.00 a.m. Holy Communion (BCP)

10.30 a.m. Parish Eucharist (CW)

3rd Sunday        8.00 a.m. Holy Communion (BCP)

  9.15 a.m. Parish Eucharist (CW)

  6.00 p.m. Evening Service

4th Sunday        8.00 a.m. Holy Communion (BCP)

10.30 a.m. Parish Eucharist (CW) and

                                          Sunday Club

5th Sunday        see notice boards

There is a short (15 minutes) service of readings and prayer every Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. Enquiries about Baptism, Banns and Weddings and requests for Home Communion to the Vicar.

We have a small, but enthusiastic choir, and a fine, modern organ. Our ring of ten bells is of national importance.

Our historic and beautiful church is open in daylight hours for prayer and reflection.

We have a healthy age range amongst our regular congregation, with a thriving Sunday Club and a well-attended Family Service on the first Sunday of the month.

We work closely with our neighbouring parish of Langrish, and we are linked to St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Cape Coast, Ghana.

East Meon has a village website: www.eastmeon.net. The church has several pages of information on the site.

Majestic cruciform,
tucked tight below
the soft, protecting
contours of Park Hill -
in all the shire no other church can boast
such history,
such prime position,
and the crowning thrill
of broad broach-spire.
